Advanced QR & Barcodes

Add scannable, dynamic tracking data to your ID cards.

Adding Scannable Elements

CraftMyID natively supports two primary types of scannable data visualization: QR Codes and Code128 Barcodes. These elements can be dragged onto your canvas from the left sidebar toolbar.

Dynamic QR Codes

When you add a QR code, you can define its "Data Value". This value is what scanners (like a smartphone camera) will read.

  • Static Values: If you enter a standard URL like https://bidhex.com, every generated card will have the exact same QR code pointing to that website.
  • Dynamic Values: The true power comes from dynamic mapping! Enter a value like https://mycompany.com/verify/{employee_id}. When you run the Bulk Generator, the system will inject the specific employee's ID into the URL, meaning every printed card will have a unique QR code!

Code128 Barcodes

Barcodes are widely used in legacy scanner hardware (e.g., library checkouts, cafeteria POS systems).

Simply enter a dynamic field exactly as you would for text, such as {roll_number}. Our rendering engine will automatically transform that numerical or alphanumeric data into a standard Code128 barcode format during export.

Scanner Compatibility

To ensure maximum scannability across all hardware devices, we highly recommend keeping the barcode/QR color strictly Black, and placing them on top of a solid White background rectangle on your card design. High contrast is essential for rapid optical scanning.
